Ali Norell, MAR, MICHT
Qualified Practitioner of Indian Champissage and Ayurvedic massage
|
Ali was brought up to believe in complementary therapy and became a regular recipient
following a series of 'undiagnosable' digestive disorders which occurred in her
twenties.
It took many years of searching and countless diet and nutrition experiments before she began to realise that her body's energies were out of balance and that all that was needed were some simple rebalancing and nurturing techniques. A minor car accident in 2000 resulted in a lower back injury and lead Ali to reflexology. Several sessions later her back pain had eased considerably, she began to feel relief from her digestive problems and as a regular dancer she became hooked on reflexology's powerful relaxing and restorative qualities. Ali trained at the Central London School of Reflexology and with the London Centre
of Indian Champissage and holds a diploma from both. She is also a Member of the
Association of Reflexologists and the International Council of Holistic Therapists.
She continues to attend courses and workshops in order to further her knowledge
and experience in healing.
Ali has continued with her training to specialise in fertility and maternity
reflexology. She has completed courses with Sally Earlam at the Central London
College of Reflexology, with renowned Danish reflexologist Inge Dougans and also
with Denise Tiran, midwife and author of numerous books on complementary therapies
and pregnancy. She currently works with Dr. Gowri Motha, practising her 'Jeyarani Gentle Birth Method'. For full details on Dr. Motha's programme please see www.gentlebirthmethod.com In order to work with pregnant mothers using the Jeyarani Way, Ali has become trained in Creative Healing, a gentle hands on massage and healing technique which may be tailored to different parts of the body to diffuse energy blockages.
Ali also trained in Ayurvedic massage under Dr. R. Bhagavan, B.A.M. at a specialised
Ayurvedic retreat in Tamil Nadu, India, and incorporates many Ayurvedic techniques
and theories across her other therapies. She is particularly interested in how
Ayurvedic knowledge may be used to ensure a healthier pre-conception lifestyle
and enhance pregnancy.
